The Practice

Two disciplines, one root.

Traditional Silat is a martial art of the body, strength, discipline, awareness, and the mind-setting that comes from training the body to protect itself. Within this practice, you build a further connection between mind, body and heart, alongside practical survival skills and goal-achieving mindset work.

Golden Qigong is an energy practice, deep focus of mind, body and heart that leads to clarity. Its traditional exercises include body alignment work that aids healing of injuries and long-carried physical tension.

Trained together under Master AbdulRahman, they form a complete practice: the strength to hold your ground, and the stillness to know when you don't need to.

Master AbdulRahman, Silat & Golden Qigong Instructor

Your Teacher

Master AbdulRahman

Silat & Golden Qigong Instructor

His journey began in childhood with Judo, where he reached Junior Black Belt and represented the British Judo Team across Europe and America, an early foundation in balance, timing, pressure, and live engagement. Years of Kung Fu followed, developing him as both practitioner and teacher.

His search eventually led him to Silat. He trained in Malaysian and Indonesian Silat and reached instructor level, before his practice became centred on Silat Cimande Asli Tarikolot, a lineage he studied directly in the village of Tarikolot, West Java, training under Bapak Firdaus, who authorised him to teach.

What he teaches is practical and close-range: footwork, evasion, striking, entries, limb control, off-balancing, locks, takedowns, sensitivity, timing, the ability to respond under real pressure. Cimande is trained with etiquette and restraint as much as technique, respect for teachers, for family, and for how martial skill is used.

He teaches across the UK and is available for national and international seminar work, offering students a living tradition, practical in application and rooted directly in its Indonesian source.
